ATL
Anywhere from Atlanta
Atlanta is a short drive from the Smokies and a nonstop map that covers Florida, the Caribbean, and a lot of the West.
These are places with enough of a reason to leave Hartsfield-Jackson, not a thin list of every airport code we know. Prices are not shown here because a fare without a live source would be a guess.
Gatlinburg and the Smokies
A cabin in the mountains that a lot of the East and South can reach without a flight.
October for color, May and June for wildflowers and milder trails, December if you like the lights.
Orlando
Theme parks, warm water, and a flight that is nonstop from a lot of US cities.
Late January through early May, and again in November, when the parks are cooler and slightly quieter.
Gulf Shores
A beach week that works as a drive for much of the South.
May, early June, and September. July and August are hot and busiest.
Cancún
A beach reset with meals included, close enough for a long weekend from much of the East and Midwest.
December through April for drier days. Summer is hotter, cheaper, and still very swimmable.
Jamaica
A beach trip where the food plan is already in the rate.
December through April. Late summer and fall are wetter and often cheaper.
Denver and the Rockies
Mountains without committing to a resort town price on night one.
June through September for high trails. December through March if the wish is actually about snow.
