MIA
Anywhere from Miami
Miami is already a beach city, so the useful wishes are a cruise pier, an all-inclusive, or a mountain that feels far away.
These are places with enough of a reason to leave Miami, not a thin list of every airport code we know. Prices are not shown here because a fare without a live source would be a guess.
Caribbean cruise
Several islands, one unpacking, if you like the ship as the destination.
December through April for calmer seas. Summer sailings are often the lower fares.
Punta Cana
All-inclusive beach time without a packed itinerary.
December through April. June through November is storm season, so travel insurance matters more.
Jamaica
A beach trip where the food plan is already in the rate.
December through April. Late summer and fall are wetter and often cheaper.
Orlando
Theme parks, warm water, and a flight that is nonstop from a lot of US cities.
Late January through early May, and again in November, when the parks are cooler and slightly quieter.
Denver and the Rockies
Mountains without committing to a resort town price on night one.
June through September for high trails. December through March if the wish is actually about snow.
Asheville
Mountains and a walkable downtown, often as a drive.
April through June and September through November. Leaf season books up.
